"From Darkness" Paintings
These figurative paintings are an extension of the structurally-abstract stone circle paintings that I've produced in the past. The circle paintings addressed the concept that monuments are markers of time and transition. They also addressed the meditative and transcendental qualities of the sites on which the prehistoric monuments were erected.

The figurative pieces take this concept one step further. They encompass the meditative qualities of the past work and speak to the viewer with a new visual vocabulary. The paintings are simply about a moment in time... the moment between sleep and waking, the moment of meditative calm, and the peaceful moment between life and death.
